The purchase of a luxurious candle is an investment to enhance your decor and lifestyle.

Before You Burn

There are a few simple tips to make the most of your Gabby candle! Light your candle for the first time when you have at least an hour to spare. You need to make sure that the entire surface of your candle melts evenly. This prevents something called 'tunneling' where in the future the flame leaves a circle of un-melted wax which will take longer to melt the next time you light it. It also means there is maximum surface area to release the candle's scent.

Maintaining Your Candles

Trim the wick to ¼ inch when your candle is cool, before every burn. You can do this with a wick trimmer, scissors or your fingers (watch out for the soot!). Make sure the surface of the candle is clean and free of any dust before you light the wick. The simple process of trimming your wick can extend the life of your candle by up to 25%.

Candles are designed to burn for 2-3 hours at a time. Make sure you have time to enjoy your candle when it is lit. A consistent burn means that the whole surface of your candle will melt evenly.

Keep your candles out of draughts, breezes and winds when they are alight. Moving air can cause tunneling and an uneven burn.

Invest in a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame, or put the lid back on if there is one. Blowing out a candle gently works but risks spilling hot wax.

Don't forget to replace the lid of the candle when it's not in use. This prevents dust building up on the surface of your candle. If you don't have a lid, consider putting your cooled down candle in a cupboard until the next time you bring it out to light it.

Candle Safety

When your candle is in use make sure to place it on a flat, stable surface and away from children and pets. Make sure the candle is not placed near curtains, drapes, bedlinen and other flammable materials.

Never leave your candle unattended such as when you are asleep, even though a candle on a nightstand is a romantic addition to any bedroom.  Candles are not designed to burn for more than 2-3 hours. The underneath of your candle may become hot so handle with caution.

Storing your Candles

Keep your candle out of direct sunlight and away from extremes of temperature. Store your seasonal candle in a cool, dark place
